The question took Rarity by surprise. The light from the fireworks flicked in her eyes as she took a moment to respond, loud cracks and explosions echoed in the distance as the Royal palace was rocked by blast after of blast from the heavy payload she had sent chugging along under its foundations along E's private train minutes ago. This, as well as the sight of the thousands of ponies in the streets below, lifted her spirits enough that she could just manage a half smile as she milled over a adequate answer for the waiting detective.

"He was Almond Danish...", whispered the purple maned mare half to herself, "and he was my father. And my mother... my sister... my friend. He was you... and me. He was all of us".

I have to say that I am usually super critical of my work but I love this one, seriously love it. It came to me yesterday around one am. in the morning when I happened to find my copy of "V for Vendetta" after tripping over it while going to bed. Excited (and in pain) I popped it in and started watching it, wasn't long before this popped into my head. Five hours and three showings of the film later and I had this to show for my efforts!

Would have had this up earlier today but I had to take some time to look around for some good fonts for the text... and after I gave up on that I caved in and just made do with the ones I already had.

BTW, some clarification on that intro quote.... Almond Danish was sort of the best alternative pony name for Edmond Dantes I could come up with. In the original quote from the film she mentions Edmond Dantes, who was the main character in V's favorite story, "The count of Monte Cristo".
