Ember-Shade Outskirts

"Cookie Crumb" Data Log: 23

They wont follow me into the city and they are smart not to. Even without the reputation that has built up around Ember-Shade there are very real and obvious dangers to contend with. With a constantly burning town that positively glowed from magical radiation at night who really had time to worry about rumors of strange activity within the smoldering ruins? Certainly there had been a report or two, a recorded first hoof account here and there but nothing solid, nothing to compelling.

Still, they will not enter. Ember-Shade is a death trap and they know it, they want me but not at the cost of any more of there number. Enough have died for the cause as they followed my every hoof-step across this blasted land. They can smell the death waiting here in this city, its instinctual, the unhealthy aura perceptible even to them.

So they will wait me out. The town is not small by any means but they were fast on my Tail and by now there would already be reinforcements on the way. By the nightfall they will have Ember-Shade surrounded, a small army waiting for there prey to flee the glow right into there waiting cross-hairs.

What they don't know is that I'm bringing guests, Ember-Shade is abandoned but far from empty and its inhabitants have rarely known such a meal as the one that amasses just beyond there boarder. Death Lives in Ember-Shade, in the very air, and today its more than eager to strike a deal.
